folded-handsThis is a time of year that can be filled with joy and happiness or filled with stress. Holidays can mean so many different things for different people. For many, this is a cherished time spent with family and friends and a time to give thanks for all the blessings in our lives. For others, the pressures of the holiday season make our stress levels rise and it is sometimes difficult to find the joy and happiness when what is foremost on our thoughts is: Why am I still alone?

The best solution for holiday blues or stress is to come from a place of gratitude. Start by making a list of all the people you are grateful for in your life. Then add to the list the things you are grateful for in your life. Share with the people on your list your thoughts and feelings and let them know how much they are appreciated.

When you come from a place of gratitude and are able to fully appreciate what you DO have in your life, you will find it’s a powerful way to let go of what could have, or should have been. Being in a state of appreciation is the same as being in abundance. Your focus is on what you do have and you always get more of what you focus on.

Having awareness of everything you do have in your life and by showing appreciation, you can start to attract the right people into your life. Relationships can actually be energized simply by showing appreciation.

During this time of year, keep your focus and gratitude on what you do have instead of thinking about what you don’t have. Fill your calendar with fun events with people you care about and keep your mindset on what you do want.
